What is ICP Filing?
ICP Filing (non-commercial Internet information service filing) is a compliance process that must be completed before a website goes live on servers in mainland China. After the filing is approved, you can display the filing number in the footer and link to the MIIT system.
What materials are required for filing?
- Enterprise business license
- Legal representative's ID card
- Domain certificate (domain real-name verification completed)
- Server information (domestic nodes such as Alibaba Cloud / Tencent Cloud)
- Website owner information and verification
Timeline (reference)
| Stage | Duration |
|---|---|
| Cloud service provider preliminary review | 1-2 business days |
| Provincial communications administration review | 3-20 business days |
| Total | Approximately 1-4 weeks |
Common reasons for rejection
- The domain holder is inconsistent with the filing entity
- The website name is not compliant (contains sensitive words)
- The contact information cannot be verified
- The website content involves categories requiring prior approval
What else to do after filing?
- Display the filing number in the footer and link to https://beian.miit.gov.cn/
- Enable HTTPS
